Owing to the fact that the period towards your graduation there will be lots and lots of events happening like planning for parties, inviting friends and family members, what to wear apart from the college graduation gown and the graduation cords and stoles should not be something that should worry you much. It is important to ensure that this is taken care of as you plan for other matters that count. The following guidelines should be kept at the back of your mind and following them will guarantee you a piece of mind as you are getting through your closer like for something that will go with the gown.
The first thing to take in to account is to ensure that you are keeping it cool. The graduation regalia are mostly made of stifling material and within no time, you will garner a lot of heat after sitting at the graduation square for hours. To ensure you stay comfortably, not forgetting that the gowns are normally weighty is to wear fabrics that will allow you to breath. Wear loose fabrics that allow free circulation of air so that you don’t heat up and be uncomfortable. To a large extent, women are much advantaged when it comes to this owing to the fact that skirts and dresses are appropriate and they will help you from circulation and will make them stay cool. Dress pants can be appropriate but may not be that comfortable.
On the other hand, men are not lucky compared to their women counterparts. College or better university commencement is different from graduating from high school commencement where polo shirts and jeans are acceptable. One expected to be more formal whereby you are supposed to wear dress pants or be in slacks and dress shirt augured with an appropriate tie. Considering that dress shirts may not be the most appropriate attire for the gentlemen, ensure you wear shirts that are somehow loose but are fitting in a way and that they are rolled up so that they can help a little to reduce heat on the sleeves.
On the feet, footwear for men is simple. You can either be in black or brown shoes. On the other hand, women can complicate. A great number of women prefer being in heels to have that dressy effect or you can also opt for an open toe or even better a closed toe as they are all acceptable. Comfort should be paramount especially if the ceremony is taking place in the grass, making it hard to walk when you are in heels, ensure that you have ballet flats. For women the colors are not limited to black and brown, they can go for other colors such as bright red, brown black but ensure you are not color clashing.
